I care because we do need the change. Obama is the number one choice for anyone that wants to see a good America in the future not only for us but for our kids as well. I believe he is the one man that can make the change and difference we need in this country. Everyone I talk to about the election I point out that he really is about ending the war and bringing the economy back to where is was before Bush. It will be hard work for anyone but I believe we have the man for the job. I may not be able to vote myself, but I encourage all to vote for him if you want our kids to have any kind of future for a good education and life in general.
Thank you Obama for making our lives better.

I’m an 83-year old veteran of WW2. I served my country proudly–and willingly–in the war in Europe. After the war, I served my country again, as a tech rep for the U.S. Navy. I am retired now, but I was fortunate enough to have received an excellent education, thanks to FDR and the 1944 GI Bill.
Ask your Congressman today: Where is the GI Bill, for our soldiers in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and all points in between. IF your Congressperson is honest, they’ll say, “Well, George didn’t think it was important!”
Barack Obama thought it was. Barack Obama voted for the Iraq veterans GI Bill.
I have voted in every election since 1946. I have voted my conscience, regardless of party affiliation. Some of my choices were wrong, but I voted for the person I thought best.
Barack Obama is the man that I think is best suited to lead our country–MY country–to a new level of decency, integrity, and honor.

I am an Australian citizen who over the past thirty years has lived in many different parts of the world - Asia, Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the US. I consider myself and every other person on this planet to be global citizens. I have always found Americans to be kind, decent and generous people and I have yet to meet an American I do not like. So it disturbs me greatly to see anti-American sentiment growing throughout the world as I know this is a reflection of the decisions and rhetoric used by US leaders and not the people themselves. Senator Obama is the only candidate with the foresight, courage, intelligence and temperament to listen to and negotiate with ALL l eaders - friends and enemies alike - to make this world a safer and more tolerant place and to restore America’s standing in the world. I also believe he is the only one who will tell us the truth! So I am asking you as a global citizen to please elect Barack Obama as the next Leader of the Free World!

I care because he cares!
He cares about being a good example to the young people of today…not just words but actions.
He cares about his family. He has a traditional marriage and nurtures his children.
He cares about bringing hope to we the people that we can become important to Washington…more important than the lobbyists.
He cares about what he says. He is thoughtful and insightful with his words, and he uses them to inspire.
He cares because he asks us to be our best selves. He appeals to our higher natures rather than our lower ones.
He cares by helping Americans and asking them to help America by giving back.
I am thankful for a politician who cares, really cares.

The reason I care about Barack Obama’s campaign is for once I believe here is a politician that cares about his family’s future and ours. I feel that rather I like the answer or not Barack Obama speaks the truth about all things, he does not just give the voters what they want to hear. I feel like I have not fought so hard for something in my life with reference to Politics as I have now. I actually believe we have a chance to return Washington D.C. to the will of the people. I consider for once in many years we will have someone in the White House that will try and play nice with the other politicians while fixing the United States. The United States has almost been unrepairable broken with Katrina, Liars in the White House, Treachery and War just to name a few. The United States most importantly has been viewed as a big mess by the international world, and now with Barack Obama’s family alone he can help bridge that gap. Continue reading…

Barack Obama has shown us through his political campaign that he is dedicated to changing the way America works. I’m sure it would have been too easy to strike back when the attacks from his opponent became both ugly and irrelevant, but he hasn’t done it. He has an entire arsenal of toxic missiles at his disposal to fire at the opposing campaign and he hasn’t done it.
This to me not only shows true strength but reveals the content of his character. Yes He Can, Yes We Can, Yes We Are - turning the tide.

Obama has the BEST of all qualities that all ages can clearly understand! I am 43 yrs-old and my daughter is 14 yrs-old; we both clearly understand his reasoning and judgment because Obama is the only one who explains with simplicity and applies common sense to everything he says! For the first time in my life, I get every word a politician says and can trust because I get it without ever finding him to twist it around, lie or try to trick us to mean something completely different later! Regardless, to what another “tries” to twist and tell me he means! I care about Obama’s concerns for us and the educational needs of those obviously lacking the communication skills to interpret another’s meaning. I feel saddened for those who were not fortunate enough to have good teachers who taught me and even my own daughter these skills in Kindergarten. Continue reading…

Because it rises above the normal level of negative rhetoric. I have been repulsed by the negativity of the Clinton campaign. That said if she is the nominee I would support her because more of the same ( Bush 3rd term via McCain) is just not acceptable.
Any Clinton or Obama supporter who would not oppose the other is simply not a good Democrat.

He leads by example. Simple as that. Politicians have campaigned on change for decades, that is nothing new. What Barack Obama has done is not only to talk about change, but he IS the change, and the entire nature of this campaign is change. No more corporate, fat cat, top-down style of campaigning, this is truly grassroots. He has given a voice to those of us who are usually ignored in election cycles. Some question whether or not he would bring about the change he always talks about, and I say, look at the campaign. If that’s any indication, America has a bright future with an Obama presidency.

I am 53, life long Republican. As the mother of a gay son I have become initially disenchanted and then ENRAGED at the far right who has hijacked the party and tried unceasingly to press their religious convictions on not only the party but the world. Their unrepentant loathing for Gays and Lesbians makes my skin crawl.
Barack Obama had me the first time I heard him speak and in the ROUSING closing he included gay rights. My Republican husband is most bemused at my support. As is my community :O)

Barack has inspired me to get involve and seek real change. As a register republican I decide to support Barack because I know hes the only one that is not playing the old WASHINGTON tired games. I am tired of all the negativity and lies of my own party. Barack tells you the truth and does not just tell you what you want to hear. He is honest, sincere, a true class act. He is by far more conservative than Hillary. Hillary and Bill are the most dis-honest folks I ever heard. Its a shame that the media is trying so hard to lie and fabricate stories against Barack. I just don’t get it. I am Catholic and I can honestly say that 3o% of the time I don’t agree with what my pastor says but that does not mean that I am going to leave the church. I have lots of family and friends who are part of my church. I also say that pastors go but the church remains. I am glad that Barack distanced himself from his pastor. Barack Obama has shown strength, courage under fire!!! For that he should be respected and admired. I will ask everyone to do like me - I made a press conference among my family and friends why I support this amazing man, now they are conducting their own press conferences. I urge all to do the same. Lets get out the vote and work extra hard.

Senator Obama rises above the theater of politics. We often get lost in political drama like we would get lost in any other show. Obama acts as our reminder of reality and he brings us back down to Earth. He speaks to us as if we were intelligent (imagine!) and forces us to face the problems that we have. This is the only way to make significant changes and this is why I support Obama.
I want Barack Obama to be my voice!

I see him as one person trying to bring people together, rather than try to make weird strategies to win votes and power.
I see him as a hope for America and for the world. We need this hope, we need this change right now, especially after all we have seen and lived during the last 10-15 years.
We belong to a generation that has a lot of challenges in front of us, such us poverty, environmental issues, terrorism, ethical and religious clashes… we need to believe and be courageous to face all those challenges and Barack is one person who inspires us to keep fighting to build a better America, to build a better world.
I feel he needs us, especially in these weeks, so here we are, believing and hoping with you.
Yes we can!!

It is just so fabulous that Barack’s campaign is being financed by us, the Grass rooters! For years I have been bemoaning how can we ever get the selfish, corporate interests to stop affecting our social policies adversely. Finally, the internet is making it possible! I am soooo excited! Go Obama!

What does Barack’s campaign mean to me? I just think about our Forefathers, the writers of the Constitution, and think about how proud they would be of Americans to have come so far as to proudly elect a bi-racial man to the highest office in the Land. A man with a father from Africa, a mother from Kansas, USA, who has lived around the world, has a Canadian American in his family and a grandmother who lives in a hut in Africa. The whole world is watching America with bated breath - waiting to see if we are intelligent enough to elect this wonderful man as a world leader. All the world is waiting…

Senator Obama isn’t just some slick talking politician. He actually deals with real issues for real change. That’s what Americans need. Not tax breaks for people who have enough money to match at least 100 people’s life savings and still be in the top tax bracket. Nor someone who says things just to get a vote. That’s lying and if debates were sworn competitions that would be perjury. Most politicians sit on Capitol Hill, press a button and that’s the end of their day. He is a genuine giver and that’s evident if you look at his background. Other politicians have to humanize themselves to appeal to the people, but aren’t we all human at birth? I was a Clinton supporter when Bill was in office, but Hilary changed my mind about voting for her. We don’t need another politician in office. We need a leader to steer us away from the darkness which lumes over us. If you don’t know struggle how can you lead someone through it?

On Meet the Press today, it was suggested that Barack Obama has changed since the beginning of his campaign, that he is somehow less hopeful. The truth is simply that Barack Obama has proven he is tough and hopeful. A leader who listens and weighs all options before jumping to a conclusion. In short, over the course of this campaign, Barack Obama has proven that he can be my president and I rest assured that he will better the country beyond that of any in my generation.

He makes me proud to be a Liberal, an American, and a Democrat. He is the only candidate I have ever contributed to directly, because he is the only one I have ever agreed with so completely.
I feel very lucky to be part of this time in history. I don’t know if I could have been prouder of Texas after the caucuses, to see Obama win more delegates, and knowing my little brother and I that went had helped. That was awe inspiring.
Obama said it best, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

I could not sleep the other night and all that was on my mind was how to help Mr. Obama in his campaign. I don’t know if I am guided by the Spirit but for sure this is what was presented to me:
“If you want to change the world YOU must be the change” ———Gandhi
“We the people”, not we the government vote for Obama because it is clear that his intentions are pure of heart and pure of mind. When we are able to quiet our minds and let go of the external media bombardment the TRUTH is inside all of us and that is Senator Obama because “Will is the strongest driving force in the Universe” and he has it, therefore he can overcome many obstacles by which others are blinded. Mrs. Clinton is surely driven by her ego and the quest for power while Senator Obama is driven by humility, perseverance and good for all. His quest for truth is invincible and God will bless him and us with his wisdom and courage. I would like to make posters with above quotes because it will make people stop and think, snap out of their massive hypnosis and realize that to make a change THEY must realize the TRUTH. Please make T-shirts, posters and whatever and mention the Gandhi quote for it has a profound effect!!!

The powers that be don’t want to change anything in this country, but the exchange of wealth from our hands to theirs. I feel that Senator Obama is the best person to lead this country and with the support of the American people behind him we will once again become involved in our government. We the people have been shut out of our own government and it’s time that we take it back.
We are not so naïve that we do not understand negative opposition means the same old thing, fear, division, deceit, and hopelessness to further the agenda of the old political views and a way of thinking which created the problems that exist now. They must listen to the American voter when they attack the agenda for change, The opposition is attacking millions of Americans who are no longer willing to except things as they are. It’s time that we discard the old way and bring in a new and experienced innovative thinker like Senator Obama and we will not only support him, but to also do the work needed to obtain our common goals.
Each and everyone of us knows the severe problems that this country faces. How long are we going to keep turning our heads and act like we don’t see them? Nothing will ever change unless we face the mirror and each other and work to secure Americas future. They know that Senator Obama has the masses stirred up and inspired with a change for the better and they don’t like it. Why can’t we see that they are trying to destroy the movement of the people? I am a Howard Dean democrat (I’ve always voted Democratic, of course, but the Dean campaign got me involved in electoral politics).
Initially, I supported Obama as the only viable alternative to Clinton, who’s candidacy I have always opposed.
I have been consistently impressed by Obama’s ability to attract and draw interest from independents, republicans, and democrats.
Certainly, as president, it is important to think of all of your constituency, in comparison to congressional or senate representation, where the demographics of the constituency is more narrowly defined.
After watching the way Clinton has conducted her campaign, I am even more strongly supporting Obama for the way he has conducted himself with style and grace.
I am even contributing to his campaign on a monthly basis, along with my democracy bond to Governor Dean.

For the first time, I feel that I am voting for ME.
Last year I was a Richardson supporter. I wanted an experienced candidate and he had it. My comment about Senator Clinton was: WHAT experience?? As far as I could tell the Clintons had tried the co-presidency when they got first elected. Hillary made such a mess about her healthcare initiative and meddled so badly (remember Travelgate?) that Republicans took over both the House and Senate in 1994 elections. With Nafta & Cafta and most favored trading nation status to China that resulted in poisoned pet food, toxic toys and tainted pet food, I was not going to vote for a Clinton.
When Governor Richardson quit the race, I looked at Senator Obama. I liked what I saw. As a single person I am taxed to the max and for the first time, there was a candidate, whose plan included not just one but two tax breaks for me, my tax rate would actually drop and maybe I could get a bigger break on my home mortgage interest deduction - and a possibility of another break when I turn into a senior a few years from now. I was getting exited. Continue reading…

I am a 60 year old white female with too much education to be Hillary Clinton’s base but otherwise in that demographic.
I have been registered Independent for my entire adult life, but I can’t remember voting Republican ever. I always end up with the Democrat, sometimes without much enthusiasm.
This time it is fundamentally different. This time I am INSPIRED. It’s a new and profound feeling. From that inspiration I have gotten involved. I am working every day in the ways I can to support Barack Obama. I am writing letters, voicing opinions and concerns on the blog and to the media and Politicians. I have donated the maximum allowed to his campaign (again a first) and intend to do the same for the General Election provided he is nominated. I am strongly against the old style of politics that HRC and camp are using in their campaign. I have always found this divisive means of campaigning off putting and discouraging. It is fundamentally why many campaigns have left me holding my nose for the Democratic Candidate.
I have never been moved by anyone as Senator Obama moves me. Continue reading…

Like many others, my love affair with Barack Obama started in July of 2004 at the DNC. That night was the first time I ever laid eyes on the man and since that night, I haven’t been able to take my eyes off of him. The speech was well written of course, complete with all the familiar buzzwords of orations past: hope, change, belief in a better America. We’ve heard it all before. It could have been delivered by any politicians and for a brief minute, it would have captured my attention. But that night, with those words and in that moment, Barack captured my heart.
Like many others, business-as-usual politics left me hopeless, tired, and cynical. Sure, at times a few politicians managed to float above the murky waters of politics and make me believe in their ability to affect change in this country. Barack was the first to make me believe in my ability to do the same.
Today, our country finds itself at the doorstep of a defining moment. We are fighting a war predicated on misinformation and deliberate lies. A war that has cost America over 4000 of its sons and daughters. A war that has tarnished our reputation with other nations and that has arguably left us no safer than when it was started. An unprecedented level of greed and corruption has done indeterminable damage to our economy. Americans are struggling not only to keep their homes and jobs, but to keep gasoline in their cars. The educational system is in crisis. Millions of Americans are living without health insurance. To put it simply, we are in trouble. The collective eyes of the world are fixed squarely upon us. Now is the time to rise to the occasion and to begin to repair the damage that has been done. It is not too late. Barack Obama stands ready to lead this country back to a place that we Americans can once again be proud to call home. “We are the ones who we ’ve been waiting for.” We can define this moment. Yes we can.

I see people have hope like never before and I do not want the Clinton’s using their dirty tactics and winning. I do not know about the rest of the world, but I am tired of the Clinton politics and I am a previous Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton supporter, but not anymore my “eyes are wide open.” If I can say anything to the Superdelegates it would be to put their allegiances aside that they feel toward the Clinton’s and any racism they may have an let the American’s dream come true…Let’s have something new in Washington, which is Barack Obama as President. Barack Obama and all of us supporters will beat McCain. Thank You.

Dear Greg,
You have been and always will be my true closest friend that I could ever have hoped for. I am finally writing to you now, two years after you left us on April 11, 2006 (what I refer to as 4-11), because I miss our times… watching a game, home improvements, poker nights, BBQ’s, drinking, or just killing quiet time on the porch with a cigar.
At 44 years old, you had a few years on me, but were certainly too young to leave this world. I sometimes wish you never got on your bike that day, but you loved to ride. I know you are patrolling the streets of Heaven, while still looking down on us from time to time.
I never told you how the stories of your 24 years in the Marine Corps, from serving in Korea to the first Gulf War, made me feel. It was these stories and your dedication to service there, and back home when you retired (at 42 you lucky dog) that gave me true understanding of patriotism and renewed my sense of respect and love for my country. You were a true American hero, as are your younger brothers and nephew who are serving right now, whom you have also inspired. You have inspired so many by your service and kind deeds in the community, collecting toys for needy children and raising money for the poor. You met the greatest callings all your life, charity and service.
A few months after 4-11, towards the end of 2006, I heard your voice. My soul was lifted for a brief moment… then reality brought me back. Then I heard your voice again, coming from the television. I turned and saw your welcoming smile, your truthful and sincere eyes met mine, and I had another brief moment before coming back.
It wasn’t you, it was a man named Barack Obama. Continue reading…

I could probably write a novel about why I am supporting, voting for, campaigning for, and donating to the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign. Someone just asked me yesterday what I like about him, and I nearly talked the guy’s ear off.
The short answer is HONESTY. This is something we stopped expecting from our elected leaders a long time ago. We didn’t get it, and we stopped asking it. That apathy in me is gone. I will never again vote for someone, at any level of government, that I haven’t researched.
Barack Obama is who he is. Michelle is who she is. They are honest, intelligent, caring, genuine, and downright gutsy people who really want something better for America. They could both be living the “high life” so to speak there in Chicago, complete with six-figure salaries, private schools for their daughters, and a nice, quiet, out-of-the-public-eye life. But instead they have chosen to put their entire family front and center because they love this country. Continue reading…

I care about the Obama campaign because this is the first time a nominee has ever made me feel inspired and proud to be from the United States. I’m an avid traveler and I always get this awkward sensation when I travel about hiding the fact that I am an American citizen. If Obama were to become president, I would no longer have that feeling. I would be able to freely, and gladly, state that I am American and I would be proud to say that. I feel that Obama has a great set of morals and ideals and truly wants to change America for the better. Holding talks with world leaders, however ‘bad’ they may be, IS the only way to make a better future for us and for the world and create actual change and forgiveness. Obama is the only candidate that sees that. I vote for Obama because he cares not only about the people he serves but also for citizens of the entire world, he actively works for change in our country and abroad and he makes me proud to be a citizen of the United States of America.

I am a 50 year old white woman – a stay-at-home mom running an online business in the Seattle area. The issue closest to my heart is a woman’s right to choose, but I also believe we need to focus on issues on the home front, such as improving the economy and providing a strong educational system for children in all income levels. Although I did have some involvement in support of the ERA, I have not been politically active. I have always been a voter, but was never so moved by a candidate to donate to their campaign, as I have to Senator Obama’s - 3 times.
When I first heard Barack Obama give the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, I was electrified! What he said in that speech struck a resonant chord, and I felt at the time that he should be the one running for president. His message of uniting our country – working together across party, race and gender lines – made so much sense to me, and I couldn’t believe that I had not heard such obvious sentiments spoken before. The current presidential election will definitely go down in history as the greatest presidential battle ever. We have three remarkable senators running: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain. All three candidates would make a remarkable president because I believe that all three have America’s best interest at heart. However, I do believe that among all of them, there is one that will be able to outperform all three. Barack Obama is the best qualified presidential candidate who is fired up and ready to lead our country on day one of inauguration.
For the record, I would like to state that I am an American of Haitian descent; thus, that would put me in the African-American category. Nevertheless, Barack Obama, being the first viable African-American running for president didn’t have anything to do with my decision. Instead of demonizing the other candidates by poking out why I don’t think they’re best qualified, I will rather present the great qualities that Senator Barack Obama possesses that leads me to believe that he is better qualified than the others because I take this election extremely seriously and hope that other young adults also begin to make their political decisions a priority.
The arguments against Obama are always irrelevant in nature. For example, many say they wouldn’t vote for him because they believe that he is a Muslim. Not only is this argument prejudicial in nature because it implies that Muslims shouldn’t be president, but it is also a blatant misrepresentation of the truth. Senator Barack Obama is a Christian and has been the member of Trinity United Church of Christ for about twenty years now (huffingpost). In his books the Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father, he speaks in detail about his Christian faith. He spoke at length about his Christian beliefs in a 2004 Chicago Sun Times interview with Cathleen Falsani. Continue reading…
