Perspective of a World Traveler

I am an Australian citizen who over the past thirty years has lived in many different parts of the world - Asia, Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the US. I consider myself and every other person on this planet to be global citizens. I have always found Americans to be kind, decent and generous people and I have yet to meet an American I do not like. So it disturbs me greatly to see anti-American sentiment growing throughout the world as I know this is a reflection of the decisions and rhetoric used by US leaders and not the people themselves. Senator Obama is the only candidate with the foresight, courage, intelligence and temperament to listen to and negotiate with ALL l eaders - friends and enemies alike - to make this world a safer and more tolerant place and to restore America’s standing in the world. I also believe he is the only one who will tell us the truth! So I am asking you as a global citizen to please elect Barack Obama as the next Leader of the Free World!

I’m seeing the same thing here in Quebec. The positive reaction to me being an American and to the nomination of Senator Obama just pumps me up and makes me want to change the world. I really believe that there is something about Americans that the international community really adores and admires… we’ve lost that in the last 8 years (actually, probably closer to the last 30) and it’s what we’re all working here to get back.
